Description

Based out of Idaho, this professional guide service operates in Oregon and Washington as well. These 5 full time guides, with an extensive knowledge of 5 different rivers, make them your absolute best choice when looking for guided fishing trips on the Snake, Clearwater, Salmon, Grande Ronde, and Columbia Rivers.

These seasoned guides specialize in Sturgeon, Steelhead, Salmon, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, and Trout.

Snake River Sturgeon

A Sturgeon is one of the largest freshwater fish on the planet. These toothless, prehistoric-looking monsters can be well over 100 years old. Ranging from 1 foot, to over 10 feet in length.

These trips typically begin in April, and run all the way thru September, with the best time of year between April thru July.

Steelhead

Steelhead are native rainbow trout, which migrate to the ocean as juvenile fish and return to fresh water as adults to spawn.

Guided steelhead trips are conducted on the Clearwater, Grande Ronde and Snake Rivers. The average Fish Size is 6-12 lbs. with Clearwater River Steelhead reaching 20lbs.

The Snake River steelhead trips usually start in mid September and run thru early March. While the Clearwater trips typically start in early October and run thru late April.

And on the Grande Ronde you can plan on fishing for steelhead around November thru April.

Salmon

These are some of the most prized fish in North America with market prices regularly seen above $40 per lb. These fish range from 10-25lbs on average, and occasionally 30lbs or more.

The summer king salmon and silver salmon start showing up in the Clearwater River and Salmon River beginning in April and running thru August, with the best time of year being between May and July.

Then the Snake River salmon show up in early August and run thru mid November. With the best time being September and October.

Walleye

Walleye are notoriously tricky to catch, but can be aggressive bitters at times. But what they may lack in regards to fight and excitement on the line, they make up for at the dinner table. Walleye are probably the best eating freshwater fish. Known for their delicate flavor, fluffy but firm meat, and are considered by many even better eating than lingcod or halibut.

This guide service fishes for walleye pretty much year round. They fish the Columbia River as early as January and on the Snake, early spring through late summer is prime. In the fall, September thru November, and in the winter months December thru February seem to be best.

Cast and Blast

Are you up for doing a twofer? Try a fall fishing/chukar combo. These combo trips take place in September and October.

The Snake River through Hells Canyon is the premier destination in the United States for combination hunting and angling trips, or as they are often called "Cast and Blasts". In Hells Canyon, the smallmouth bass fishing is world class and there are plenty of trout to be caught.

At this time of year, salmon and steelhead are running and can be an exciting fish to target. The gravy on the fishcake is the chance at hooking a true prehistoric monster sturgeon.

We recommend you book well in advance with your desired date and species to ensure we schedule you at the best time possible.
