* This hunt takes place in the wild Salmon River area of north-central Idaho. Camp on the early hunts can typically be accessed via 4x4 but later hunts may require a short horse ride.
* All licenses and permits for this hunt can be purchased over the counter or online. Hunters are also encouraged to have a wolf tag just in case. Several large wolves have been taken the past few years. It is also not uncommon for hunters to take at least 2 of the 3 species offered on the combo package.
* The primary species on this hunt is the mule deer. Bucks scoring in the 160 to 180 range are typical though some are taken exceeding that 200 inch mark with spreads in excess of 30 inches.
* Most elk taken are respectable 5x5 and 6x6 bulls. Some bulls will score in excess of 300 inches.
* Hunts are guided with a 2x1 ratio and hunters must provide their own partner. A 1x1 hunt can be arranged for an additional fee.
* Idaho offers some great youth hunting opportunities by offering low pricing for youth permits. Youth tags for deer,elk and bear total $153. This outfitter takes advantage of those opportunities by offering special youth pricing if booked in tandem with a full paying adult.
