* These hunts are booked with one of Montana's long established outfitters. They have been guiding hunters for over 40 years with a track record of success. Better than 80% of their archery hunters are presented with a shot while harvest rates average near 40% for their rifle hunters. The high success puts this outfitter in high demand.

* This outfitter holds the exclusive guiding rights to near 200 square miles of forest and wilderness land. Hunts are based out of a comfortable modern lodge and hunts are via 4x4 and foot.

* Most bulls taken are 5x5 and 6x6. Numerous record quality bulls have been taken over the years.

* Tags to hunt this area of Montana does require a drawing. However, historically it has been a guaranteed draw for any non-resident that applies. The non-resident can apply for a combination tag which will give you an elk and deer tag or simply apply for an elk only. A deer can be added to an elk hunt for only the cost of the permit. Whitetail and mule deer are available.

* The deadline to apply for permits is in mid-March. However, over the past several years, there have been numerous permits remaining after the drawing. If this is a hunt you want to book for this year, it is possible that a left-over tag can still be secured over the counter.
